How to Write a Superhero Origin Story
Turn the first transformation into a playable comic issue with stakes, cost, and identity.
An origin story should show who the character was before the power, what changed, and what choice made the alias necessary.
Use three beats
- Normal life under pressure.
- The impossible event.
- The first choice after the power arrives.
End with a hook
The last panel should open a door: a rival watching, a symbol chosen, a city calling, or a cost still unpaid.
